Piano lessons are not necessarily only for pupils within the school they are happening in. However, the piano lesson that starts directly after school can only feasibly be for pupils within that particular school. There may be a later class your child could attend if they are travelling from another school.

After-school classes are grouped by appropriate age ranges. Junior & Senior Infants would attend lessons together, as would 1st/2nd/3rd Class or 4th/5th/6th Class. Age ranges are never mixed beyond this to ensure children get the most value out of the piano lesson, e.g. a 1st Class pupil would never be in a lesson with a 5th Class pupil.

For private lessons, anyone over the age of 4 is welcome.

Classes take place in Esker Educate Together National School in Lucan on Tuesdays and Primrose Hill National School in Celbridge on Wednesdays.

Private classes take place in Chapelizod on Thursday afternoons.

Group classes will be dependent on school finishing times. Times will all displayed in the dropdowns of the booking page for that term, when available to book.

Private classes are scheduled across a number of half hour slots between 2-6pm.

Group classes are 1 hour long.

Private classes are 30 minutes each.

Terms vary in length but in general follow the primary school calendar. For example, the Post-Easter term for 2025 will be 8 weeks long.

When a term is available to book for a group class it will appear here. You can see the start dates and end dates of each term by clicking on that term.

For beginner group classes as an after-school activity, each term is priced based on an individual class costing €17.50 per person. This price includes all practice materials. Students will not be asked to purchase any books or additional sheet music.

For private classes, each term is priced based on an individual class costing €30 each. You will be required to purchase a method book or an exam book / pay to sit an exam in a private class, depending on the student’s preferred learning objectives. For new students, a number of lessons will be provided before suggesting what level of method book / exam book to purchase. No portion of a payment for a method/exam book or for an exam fee goes to the teacher.

Group classes will have a max of 8 children.

Music Maestros aims to keep group classes consistent, with the same students in attendance for the entire term, so that students get the most out of each term. There is also a maximum capacity allowable for each class. For these reasons, unfortunately trial classes and pay-as-you-go classes cannot be offered.

There is also no pay-as-you-go or once-off trial classes for private lessons. For something like piano lessons, one class isn’t enough to see any real progress. Instead, a full term is recommended to give students a real chance to get into the routine, see progress, and decide if it’s right for them. The terms for private classes are also shorter than group lessons, so this typically means about 5-7 weeks of a trial period.

Payments are non-refundable, except in the case of cancellation by Music Maestros.

Piano strudents in group classes will not sit an exam as part of the beginners programme. Music Maestros aims to foster a love of the piano in a group setting for beginners, prior to considering sitting exams. It is recommended that students wishing to sit exams seek out private tuition.

In private lessons, we will decide together whether or not a student would like to sit an exam. This will be purely based on the student's preference. Should a student wish to sit an exam this will be done via the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
